One of the most significant days of the year is Earth Day. On this day you can do anything to help the nature and atmosphere around us. We, as Woodstock students, also helped Mother Earth. We all, in homerooms, donated 10 to 20 rupees so that the school could assign people to help clean the untidy part of the hillside. As we live with so many other people, there are garbage and litter on the hill side. So we went today, after lunch to help the assigned people clean up. We were provided with gloves and a black bag to collect the rubbish in. We were not allowed to go to the steeper edges because it was not so safe. Earlier this week we also had a brochure making competition. Three or four of it would be selected and distributed among the people living in the area that had rubbish. This would help them realize how important it is to keep the nature and the surroundings clean. Even though there was so much rubbish and our cleaning spot was right next to the stinky toilets, we managed. We collected about 30-35 bags of rubbish. We were all so dirty and itchy that as soon as we came back to dorms we went to take a bath.
Today I got a feeling that I had done something really good that helped me and it helped the people around me to learn a lesson. I feel really proud about cleaning the surroundings and the nature.
