Science Fair

If you are studying or studied in this school then you should be informed that your have Science Fair when you attend 6th and 7th grade. You have to choose 2 other people whom you want to work with. Then you decide on an experiment. Later on after your science teacher grades you, you have a prize winning session where judges come and give you grades on your poster. They decide on the best overall poster and you get rewarded.
Well, I am in seventh grade and I just finished with my fair recently. Our experiment was to find out which battery brand lasts the longest. We were not quiet sure about doing this experiment but we thought it would be best out of the other options. When we stared on it, it was not so interesting. We would just on the torch and timer and keep fooling around. And soon enough we were worried about all kinds of stuff. “Oh, is this looking fine? Do you think this should be here and there? Oh no! I spoiled it!”- Kind of questions were traveling around the whole class. But today the judges would be coming around and grading our posters. I was really scared and excited even though I knew what I would be talking about. My part was the Introduction. I had continuously repeated it so many times to the Elementary and the staff members that I had memorized it by heart. As I was going through cold I suddenly felt a weird uncomfortable feeling on my throat. Then slowly my voice became softer and softer. I told my partners about it and one of them went to get mint for me. I chewed it instead of sucking it but it did help a little anyway.
Then after waiting, which seemed like hours, a judge in green shirt came by. We were all trying to be on our best behavior. Then I started out by explaining the aim and hypothesis. Then my partners also repeated their parts for the 10th time. He asked us a few questions that were not so hard. We were kind of nervous about it but I think he understood what it felt. After grading us we were allowed to go outside.
I think that this was a good science fair. It went well. One thing I didn’t like about this was that we had to stand up the whole time. Our legs were aching to death. But if you look at the positive part then it was really fun. The sad thing is that we are not having science fair anymore. But there are some other events to look forward to next year in 8th grade.

I appreciate your hard work, my child. Keep it up. At the same time tell me what do you think about the following statements?

- There are 26 vitamins in all, but some of the letters are yet to be discovered.

- Genetics explains why you look like your father, and if you don't, why you should.

- Vacuums are nothings. We only mention them to let them know we know they're there.

- The cause of perfume disappearing is evaporation. Evaporation gets blamed for a lot of things people forget to put the top on.

- Water vapor gets together in a cloud. When it is big enough to be called a drop, it does.

- Mushrooms always grow in damp places, which is why they look like umbrellas.

- Momentum is something you give a person when they go away.

- A monsoon is a French gentleman.

- The word trousers is an uncommon noun because it is singular at the top and plural at the bottom.

- To keep milk from turning sour, keep it in the cow.

- When planets run around and around in circles, we say they are orbiting. When people do it, we say they are crazy.

- For asphyxiation, apply artificial respiration until the patient is dead.

- Thunder is a rich source of loudness.

- One of the main causes of dust is janitors.
